Michaela Lucio




Michaela Lucio is a Canadian artist, curator, and arts administrator whose practice investigates the lingering histories embedded in family photographs. Through her work, she weaves memory and imagination into explorations of intergenerational relationships.
Lucio holds a Specialist Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto Mississauga and an Advanced Diploma in Art and Art History from Sheridan College, where she received the Silver Medal Award upon graduation. Her artwork has been exhibited across Southwestern Ontario, including at The Living Arts Centre (Mississauga), The Cotton Factory (Hamilton), Gallery 1313 (Toronto), and Glenhyrst Art Gallery (Brantford).
She received first place in the WFCU Credit Union Painting Competition and Exhibition at the Leamington Art Centre in both 2022 and 2024. In 2024, her work was longlisted for the Jackson’s Art Prize (Jackson’s Art Supplies) and awarded Best in Show at Visual Elements 66 (Woodstock). In 2025 and 2026, Lucio’s work was featured in The Artist Project, a vibrant showcase of more than 250 independent artists.
